Welcome to

The New Zealand Boer Goat Breeders Association (1989) Inc.

The New Zealand Boer Goat Breeders Association is the guardian of the Boer goat breed in New Zealand.

The Association was formed in 1989 to create and maintain a stud registry for the breeding of Boer goats in New Zealand and held its first annual general meeting in Auckland in 1993 with 12 members present. Over the proceeding years the NZBGBA has developed a Strategic Plan with the following objectives:

  1. Promote the breeding of Boer goats in New Zealand

  2. Promote the production of meat by Boer goats in New Zealand.

  3. Supply of information for the farming of Boer goats in New Zealand.

  4. To liaise with other meat industry partners so the NZBGBA  has participation in the development of the goat meat industry in New Zealand.
